A boy ricky Diaper Review

boy ricky will be rating diapers from time to time. These Diaper Reviews will be tagged so you can find them. The review will give an overall grade. On our site that means using a scale of 1 to 5 ricky's. 5 ricky's being excellent and 1 ricky not so good!

Bambino Baby Diaper

I got two Bambino Baby diapers to try. I have heard lots of good things about these diapers. I received the medium diaper which is big for me as I wear small diapers.

First Glance: They look great. The front panel has a baby print pattern with soft baby pastel colours. The best however is that the front is covered with a cute pattern of baby blocks spelling out "BABY". If that doesn't help regress you back to baby or toddler land nothing can! I knew from pictures I would love the look of them, and I wasn't disappointed. They rock.

The diaper: The Bambino is just a little thinner than an Abena X Plus. The plastic is softer and it has the same kind of blue waist band as those Pampers you may have worn as a little kid. Wide deep leg guards that are soft. The crotch is wide and suggests you can wear these for awhile!
Putting it on: As I said above, they are mediums and I really need a small. It took some working to get them on because of that. Its absolutely key when putting a diaper on you get a good fit at the bottom for good reason.

I had to re tape the bottom tapes three times to get the fit i needed. I was thrilled I was able to do this. The tape on most diapers would have lost its ability to stick! The sides of the diaper are big. They wrap well around my small frame, but would do a good job on those needing a medium diaper.

Absorbency: The Bambino Diaper felt good and it was thick between my legs. It gave me a little waddle and i sure knew I had a diaper on. The waist band didn't pinch or feel uncomfortable. The diaper felt good. I'm hard on diapers because I pee alot. I wore the Bambino from 4pm overnight till 9:30am the next morning. After I wet it, its started to swell up. I loved that. It felt like Huggies do when you wear them. I was in heaven. Through the later afternoon it started to swell more, the leg guards held and the diaper was getting bigger.

I love that feeling. My waddle got more pronounced. Remember this is a medium diaper on someone that should have a small diaper. When I went to bed I felt the diaper could take more, so tempting fate, I did not wear plastic pants. I wanted to know if they would leak as i am a bed wetter.

Endurance: After 17.5 hours the diaper was still holding up. It was heavy because it was wet and i messed during the night. I don't doubt it might have gone longer but I had to go out so a change was required.
AB Appeal: Very High. If this does not take you to Baby land you need to loosen up!

Rating: 5 ricky's

Little Girl look - happening in Japan

"The Little-Girl Look Is Big in Japan Now - Among the Brave"

The Wall Street Journal September 17, 2004 Friday
By Ginny Parker

TOKYO -- When Hayaka Otani goes out, she likes to wear one of her many baby-doll outfits: puffy pink dress, frilly bloomers, knee socks and a big white bonnet.

But Ms. Otani is hardly a child. She's a 20-year-old store clerk and student at a technical college. She's also a loyal fan of what's known here as the "Lolita" look: elaborate, doll-like costumes festooned with ruffles and lace. In recent years in Japan, the look has grown from a tiny subculture to a burgeoning fashion craze...
Some Japanese students of youth culture see the Lolita look as a sign of anxieties resulting from growing up in a nation beset by economic insecurities since the early 1990s. "They live in a society that doesn't feel very hopeful about its future," says Rika Kayama, a psychiatrist. "By dressing up like babies, the Lolitas are attempting to hang on to the carefree days of childhood," she says.

  • you had absolutely no responsibilities;
  • playing in the bathtub till you were all wrinkled;
  • taking an afternoon nape with no distractions;
  • cuddling while having your favorite story read to you;
  • when your best friend was your favorite "Teddy" and he went everywhere with you;
  • finger-paint or colored as if there we no care in the world?

Now you can relive those days!

AB furniture manufacturer!

"I am getting back into the AB furniture business," Thrashbear recently announced on his LiveJournal blog.
Thrashbear's first crib.

To celebrate the near completion of my shop and newly acquired business license, I have decided to throw my hat back in the AB furniture ring, in a big way. Having spent ten years as a professional furniture maker, I am finally poised to put those skills to use in my own dream shop.

It is my intention to turn Cubswork into the first true AB furniture manufacturer!

Beginning the second week of April, I will begin a production run of adult baby cribs, high chairs and rocking animals. Each one will be different, a variation on a theme, but the techniques used to put them together lend themselves well to mass production. I can then customize each of them to the owner's particular tastes, by adding my own artistic flair with carvings, woodburnings, or scrollwork patterns. In other words, I consider each unit I build to be a blank canvas for us to make something truly unique.

Chemical reaction with diapers

Be careful with those diapers

A health department is looking into the possibility that chlorine-soaked rags were thrown out in a diaper pail and came in contact with the ammonia that forms from urine. The mixture may have caused a chemical reaction that lead to several people getting sick.

An investigator said it was possible that rags were thrown in diaper pails in the past, but if they landed on the plastic-coated outside of a diaper it would not cause a chemical reaction.

If this happens in your home you may have too many diapers lying around.

Aduly babies featured in British Mag

This is an article from the British Magazine More

Adultbabysitting was recently interviewed about the AB/DL lifestyle. The story was published in the March 2007 edition of MORE Magazine. Click on the image to enlarge.

"The article itself focused more on the sexual aspect, as we expected they would do. Overall, it was written well, without bias and turned out nicely and we are very pleased. When compared to the all the 'Jerry Springer' type of media coverage the AB/DL world has gotten in the past, we think we it turned out rather well," said adultbabysitting.com

Adult Diapers For The Rest Of Us

Here is a blog post from Words for my Enjoyment blog

Adult Diapers For The Rest Of Us

October 22nd, 2006

Have you ever just “let it go?

You’re laying in bed and too lazy to get up or sitting in a long meeting at work and can’t really leave the room or in the middle of a movie and not wanting to miss any part whatsoever or hiking up a mountain when the urge hits you? And when all of these things happen you have to bide your time, hope for the best, and eventually find your way to a bathroom facility of some kind? I know what you’re thinking: it’s a complete and total waste of time…

…and wouldn’t be an issue if wearing adult diapers all the time was acceptable.

Link to Crib plans

Looking to build a crib? I found this on the Bedwetting ABDL site with plans for building one. It costs money to get the plans however the site says you can build your crib for $100.00 US.

That's a pretty good price if you or a friend have the tools.

It looks as if you don't really need a lot of tools if you go to a Home Depot, where they can cut much of what you need for a small price to the specs for the plan.

The plans include you using an existing twin bed and mattress.

A hint - If you are worried they will know its for a crib and you don't want them to know, take just the list of pieces and sizes with you. Tell them its for two different projects!

The plans cost $20.00 and he will get them to you in paper form or via email. Its up to you. We will be building a crib this spring and this looks like the one.

That's me in a crib at ABDL Montreal.

Don't chew too much on those toys

San Francisco bans Toxic Toys!

Widely used chemicals with suspected links to cancer and developmental problems in humans are present in common baby products like the yellow rubber ducky, bath books and clear plastic bottles, a Chronicle analysis confirmed...

..."Protections for children from chemicals in toys are weak at best and dysfunctional at worst,'' said Joel Tickner, a professor of environmental health at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He has served as a consultant to the forum and on national panels that advise the U.S. government on chemicals in the environment.

I point this out as US Government scientists state in low numbers the toxins are not a problem. With Adult Babies it could be a problem as we may chew on these toys with somewhat more vigor than a child would, thus increasing the potential for more "leaching" of toxins. Be careful!
