Infantilism may refer to one of the following.

Interests and mainly psychological conditions:

• Paraphilic infantilism involves the desire to wear diapers and be treated as an infant or toddler.
• Psychosexual infantilism, a concept introduced by Freud

Mainly physiological conditions:

• Sexual infantilism, more precisely called genital infantilism involves arrested development of sexual organs observed for some endocrine and congenital disorders affecting sexual development, also listed in the article on Delayed puberty. This symptom is associated with a number of syndromes.

• Adiposogenital dystrophy, a synonym of ... sexual infantilism.

There are also other obsolete uses of the adjective infantilism.

Making messing less bothersome

My following tips or tricks are only for members who are diaper messers or would like to become one or hesitate to be one because of bad experiences with smell and cleanup. I must confess that I really LOVE diapers (and pants) pooping very much (even in public) although the smell and the cleanup afterwards are not real fun. So I allow me to offer some practical tips from my long-time experience as diaper pooper:

* Reducing odor (at home or in public):

(1) Wear good plastic pants over your diapers that some times can hide the odour for a good while.
(2) Wear also boxer shorts pretreated with Fébreze which additionally absorb the smell.
(3) You may take some peppermint-oil capsules a few days in advance which can turn the smell a bit into peppermint-odor - but cannot transform poop into peppermint chocolate :-)
(4) Reducing poopy smell in the appartment/bed etc:
Use Febreze spray and/or burn incense cones which cover the smell very good.


* Avoiding diaper rash:
(1) If you use Baby Creme or Baby Oil or Baby Oil Gel (!), it will keep the moisture and mess away from your skin and prevent rashes.
(2) Additionally you may disperse/strew some Baby Powder into the inside of your diapers.


* Cleanup and reducing smell on the skin without pain:
(1) Just jump in the shower or bathtub, take off your messy diaper, roll it up into a wad, and put it into a plastic bag (or Diaper Genie).
(2) Use a hand-held shower head in your shower/bathtub.
(3) Use the shower head between your legs and to your butt until the water runs clear (it takes only a few minutes).
(4) Then use special shower gels (with orange or citric oil aroma [!] which totally delets poopy smell on the skin)
(5) You may use an additional Body Creme or Body Lotion or a good DeoSpray afterwards.


You may enjoy messing a lot more often that you know how easy it will be to reduce odor, to avoid rash while staying in messy dprs for a long time, and to get clean ... Good luck and enjoy! - Hans - ;-)

youtube babies help lead the way

This is a copy of my response to a discussion on Daily Diapers. The discussion supposes that wearing diapers has become a fad given the number of videos of diaper folks on youtube. One poster suggests that youtube is not helping public tolerance... as usual i digressed abit but here is my posting and my reason for being optimistic things will get better for the Adult babies of the world...

"Public discussion of sexuality has been opened wide with the Gay rights fight and AIDS. Here in Canada our Supreme Court has said it's all right to have sex parties in public places (ie bars nightclubs, etc (restricted to 18 and over)). The club can even charge to enter but must not charge for sex. The determining cases were two Montreal "Straight" swingers clubs. They were charged and it went all the way to the Supreme Court.

Though straight clubs have been doing this for years with the occasional police crack down, gay club backrooms and bath houses were raided frequently. The resulting fight for our rights to enter and play in such places has been long but has lead to informing the public. Part of that education has come from harm reduction practices established to slow HIV infections. It has been generally accepted for years now that its a better opportunity to promote safer sex messages to people having this kind of "public sex" than to charge them. It wasn't an easy battle but it has won the day.

The courts, largely based on changing community standards and individual rights, now accept sexual diversity between consenting adults in some places that are deemed "public".

I would argue we are moving to a more accepting "community standard" at least in Canada, with respect to diversity. I can see that the use of diapers for sexual purposes being seen as weird as in BDSM. Diaper lovers will not be shunned if discovered.

The larger community issue will be with AB's like myself. Tolerance will take time to develop.

The internet is a great help in this effort. Youtube and other services are exposing all kinds of different sexual and divergences from societal norms. The more exposure, the more tolerance can develop. Canada's number one News Magazine recently (March 5, 2007) did a full page on Adult Babies. Have a look at the article here.

The days of Jerry Springer "adult babies fight on stage" are diminishing. Progress is being made. Youtube and other internet/media resources are helping. I expect to have a program in place soon, funded by a government to conduct harm reduction (safer sex) programming within the AB/DL community. 10 years ago i would have been laughed at.

So while we will see some "not so helpful" stuff on youtube that may make some of us wince, we will see many good things as well.

I also seek the day when we are not seen as a member of a select community but as part of a larger human community. Its happening the GLBT world, it can happen for ours too.
